Gewa Au & Associates through the Central Open Learning Institute is an Education and Training Organisation dedicated to helping people achieve success for themselves and their organisations. In our profession, we work with people and not just projects, because each training course offers a chance to change a person's life. We believe that training requires caring:

Originating from Alukuni Village in the Central Province and being educated in Papua New Guinea, Founder and Principal Consultant, Dr Gewa Au has gained a wealth of experience in education and training. During the time of self government and Independence in Papua New Guinea, he was also able to expand his skills and knowledge into administration and management of training services with the National Housing Commission and the Department of Works.

Dr Au immigrated to Australia in 1993 where he commenced a career teaching at Bamaga High School. He then went on to coordinate the Ranger Training program for Far North Queensland TAFE. Dr Au has always enjoyed a challenge, and in 1996 moved to Brisbane where he successfully completed a Masters in Environmental Education with Honours at Griffith University followed by a PhD degree in the field of education at the University of Queensland.

Dr Au has worked with students from many diverse backgrounds and environments including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands, Pacific Islands, Sudan and China and has a deep and empathetic understanding of the difficulties and challenges faced by these students.

Dr Au is passionate about creating opportunities through which to share his skills and experiences with teachers, students and parents throughout Papua New Guinea and Far North Queensland.
